Rosewood has some truly phenomenal hotels, and the brand is expanding at a fast pace, with nearly two dozen properties expected to open in the next few years. While Rosewood doesn’t have a loyalty program, there is a way to get extra perks for Rosewood stays by booking through an eligible travel advisor.
In this post I wanted to talk about why it almost always makes sense to book a Rosewood property through a travel agent — they can add perks to your booking, all at no extra cost to you. Let’s take a look at the details of that, and then talk about Rosewood properties more generally.
In this post:
How travel agents can help with Rosewood bookings
Many people think that the concept of booking hotels through travel agents is outdated. While that’s true for many types of hotel stays, that’s very much not the case when it comes to luxury hotels.
For luxury hotel brands like Rosewood, you’ll almost always get the best deal by booking through a luxury travel advisor, who can help add perks to your booking at no extra cost to you. There’s even a specific program available to select travel advisors that adds value at Rosewood properties.
How is this possible? Well, hotels spend a lot of money on marketing so that they can fill rooms at decent yields. One sales technique that hotels use is that they offer select trusted travel agents extra perks they can give their clients when staying at Rosewood properties. It’s a win-win-win, for Rosewood, the guest, and the travel agent.
Rosewood Elite perks: free breakfast, upgrades, and more
Rosewood has a special program for select travel agents, which allows them to give their guests extra benefits on Rosewood stays. This is similar to programs offered by other hotel groups, like Accor STEP, Belmond Bellini Club, Four Seasons Preferred Partner, Hilton Impresario, Hyatt Privé, Mandarin Oriental Fan Club, Marriott STARS, and Shangri-La Luxury Circle.
The program is called Rosewood Elite, and for booking through a Rosewood Elite travel agent you get the following benefits:
- Daily breakfast for up to two people per bedroom
- Complimentary room upgrade upon arrival (based on availability)
- A welcome amenity and note
- Additional property specific elite enhanced amenities, which vary by property; these can include a $100 credit per stay, though you’ll want to check with a Rosewood Elite travel agent to determine the property specific amenity available for your stay
These benefits are only available when booking published rates and featured Elite Exclusive Offers. This includes many of the rates available directly through Rosewood, including a fourth night free offer, for example.
A couple of important things to note:
- Upgrades and VIP treatment are prioritized for Rosewood Elite guests over those booking through other programs, like Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts or Virtuoso, so you’re almost always best off booking through a Rosewood travel agent
- A good Rosewood travel agent can help you compare rates through these various programs
My husband Ford is a Rosewood Elite travel agent and can be reached at [email protected], and would be happy to help with these requests. He doesn’t charge any service fees for Rosewood reservations. In some cases he might even be able to help with existing Rosewood bookings that don’t have these benefits added.
Why Rosewood hotels are worth considering
For those of you not familiar with Rosewood, the brand currently has just over two dozen luxury properties. Rosewood was founded in 1979, though the brand has been growing at a much faster rate in recent years.
I’d say Rosewood is probably most comparable to Four Seasons in terms of quality. What I love about Rosewood is the huge variety of locations. Rosewood has some phenomenal city hotels (like in London and Hong Kong), while it also has some of the top resorts in vacation destinations (like in Bermuda and Los Cabos).
Just to give a few examples, the Rosewood Hong Kong is regarded as one of Hong Kong’s top hotels, while the Rosewood Mayakoba and Las Ventanas al Paraíso are regarded as two of Mexico’s best resorts.

Bottom line
Rosewood has some gorgeous hotels, and the brand’s portfolio keeps growing. From well-regarded resorts, to cutting-edge city hotels, Rosewood is in many cases setting a new standard for luxury.
The best way to book a Rosewood hotel stay is through a travel agent affiliated with the Rosewood Elite program. While Rosewood doesn’t have a loyalty program, you can get perks that rival typical elite benefits by booking through a Rosewood Elite travel advisor. This will get you free breakfast, a room upgrade subject to availability, and some additional perks.
In many cases travel advisors won’t charge any sort of service fees (that’s because they get a commission from hotels, even though you’re paying the same rate you would directly), and that’s why booking luxury hotels through a travel advisor is a no-brainer.
If you’ve stayed at a Rosewood hotel before, what was your experience like?

Can’t say enough about the London location. A conference put me up there for 3 nights; it was awesome. Every time I look at it on my own dime I am scared off and use Hilton points for the Tower Doubletree. But the Rosewood was absolutely amazing.
I completely agree with David and completely disagree with cahbf's comments. We have visited the RW Mayakoba about 7-8 times now and despite being probably their lowest revenue clients (we stay in the cheapest lagoon suite, which is still pricey but very large and luxurious, with indoor/outdoor shower and plunge pool), they treat us like royalty and like family at the same time. Even more importantly, the staff is incredibly friendly and down to earth...

Even more importantly, the staff is incredibly friendly and down to earth (far from stuffy) and they don't change; you see many of the same staff year after year, changing roles, and all are friendly, helpful and go above and beyond. You don't go to the Mayakoba for cheap eats - the food by Chef Juan Pablo Ortiz is amazing throughout the resort and worth every penny. You go to Mayakoba to relax and be pampered. While I would love take our young daughter, it is our go-to for an annual couple's long weekend away. The Mayakoba is constantly making upgrades and improvements to the grounds and their services/amenities. Although its not overrun with kids, the resort just added an adults-only section of the beach with 3 small pools. I think a new bar and gym might be in the works. The spa is already incredible. And even when its 95% full, you never feel it. I think they have more than 2x the number of beach/pool chairs needed and you are never fighting for space. You have complimentary bikes waiting for you at your room when you arrive so you can get yourself around the incredible grounds. Clearly, we are big fans and can't say enough. The only other resort we've visited is in Italy (Castiglion del Bosco), which I would also recommend - but nowhere near the level of service as the Mayakoba. Look forward to visiting some of their other properties.
I happened to be on my way to the Andaz Mayakoba. I’ve been there before and visited the Rosewood property which is on the same lagoon. Just for the record, from what I experienced, I disagree with cahbf’s comments. The lagoon is beautiful and filled with over 30 species of birds. For those that would like a very exotic and natural experience, in a luxury setting, I highly recommend either resort. I do agree that...

Rosewood beats most Four Seasons/Ritz/Peninsula/St Regis hands down. The club lounge of Beijing Rosewood is easily one of the best in the world. (free pouring of legit champagne) and only serves freshly squeezed juice.
Rosewood Georgia in Vancouver is a great hotel. Luxury boutique. Not stuffy and fuzzy like a 4 season.
A bit (ok, more than a bit) off-topic, but Niki Lauda passed away. He was definitely an interesting guy, I mean, how many F1 drivers do you know of who started their own airlines?
@Ace, they do follow the same exact hotel standard cancellation policies. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions and would be happy to quote any Rosewood property.
Are agents bothered when booking single nights just to get the amenities?
Hi Lucky,
Just out of curiosity- do rosewood reservations booked through a travel advisor follow the standard hotel cancellation policy? We travel with two young kids so always try to avoid non-refundable rates when we can. Also, sending my best wishes to your mom.
I have been to a handful of their props, but the RW I am most excited about is being built now on the Big Island. Hoping the new property can withstand future hurricanes better than its predecessors.
The best Rosewood -- the best city hotel period -- was The Dharmawangsa in Jakarta, sadly no longer in the group.
I'm a Rosewood Elite and Virtuoso advisor so would be happy to help any of you book your stay at any Rosewood and/or Virtuoso properties. Feel free to send me an email to [email protected] and I'll get back to you shortly.
Rosewood is fine, but it's not like it used to be when it was Dallas-owned.
They're expanding fast. I'm at the new Bangkok property at the end of June. Love the look of their suites and it's nice to have a brand-new hotel in the mix.
Love the London location. It's like its own little quiet city.
The Carlyle is about their people and Bemelmans, but the rooms need a serious refurb.
Anasazi is...

Anasazi is lovely. It's just the right size for being smack dab in the middle of SF.
Mansion on Turtle Creek is the grand dame (or was, if you consider the history). Their rooms are a little dated, but the people and their bar is just tops.
Rosewood Baha Mar is more theme park than hotel: Great rooms, but staff need another year to get things rolling smoothly. That whole property embodies the 'just because it's big doesn't mean it's the best' ideology.
@Lucky how do you know the hotel list will change dramatically through the thankyou.com website. This perk has already been very much reduced and I can now really use it only on FS or Rosewood stays which are bookable on thankyou.com. If they disappear then its def. finished
I've stayed at The Mansion at Turtle Creek and The Carlyle. Both were great hotels with the Mansion showing signs of age and The Carlyle was next level! The rooms are really more like pied a terres. Rosewood built "The Mansion Buckhead Hotel and Residences" in Atlanta that delivered during the GFC and it flopped on both counts. It was a Mandarin for a number of years and now just re-flagged as a Waldorf Astoria.
The Mayakoba property is nice but not worth going to. It's in a luxury hotel "mall" between Cancun and Playa with 3-4 other hotels, the property is basically on a giant freshwater swamp. I went with 4 people, we had a nice time but there was no beach, you feel "trapped", and pay $50 for pad thai when there is insanely good cheap Mexican food in Playa, Tulum, Cancun, etc. I'd pass on that one....

Ventanas is nice but frankly we thought the Hilton and Westin adjacent and nearby were great and 10% of the cost. Ventanas is worth trying if you have the cash. I've never seen so many celebrities as I did at Ventanas, if that's your thing.
I had my wedding at Rosewood Bermuda last year and it's an amazing property that we have been going to for years, even during the bankruptcy. Also, my sister was married at Las Ventanas and I have been to most of the other Rosewood's in Mexico and the properties and service are unbeatable.
Slightly off topic, but I'm considering an upcoming stay at a Sofitel property in Asia. It doesn't appear to be listed through Virtuoso or FHR. Are there any luxury programs available through travel advisors that offer perks at Accor/Sofitel?
Lucky, thanks for this.
I've got an upcoming reservation at the Rosewood Miramar Beach (free due to the opening being pushed) and the Rosewood Baha Mar (Nassau) in August. I've found that Ritz and Four Season brands are more hit and miss than they used to be. I'll definitely reach out to Ford moving forward about Rosewood Bookings.
Le Crillon is now my favorite hotel in Paris after Le Bristol. I can't wait to go back. Also, it didn't even dawn on me until now that the Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi and Le Crillon are part of the same hotel family. I was thinking about going back to the Rancho Encantardo but may have to think about the Rosewood. Thanks!
We would love to help with any Rosewood Elite Bookings - just email [email protected].
