The Amex Offers program often has promotions that can save you money on hotel stays, especially with co-branded credit card partners Hilton and Marriott.

We pretty regularly see Amex Offers deals for Hilton-family properties, given the close partnership between American Express and Hilton. We’ve just seen a new offer introduced, so I wanted to go over the details of that, and share the other offer rolled out in late 2023, which is still available.

Best of all, these offers can be combined with any promotions being offered by Hilton Honors, including the current global promotion. Let’s go over the details of the three offers.

Spend $1,000+ at select Hiltons, save $200

There’s a targeted Amex Offers deal for stays at select Hilton family properties:

  • Save $200 when you spend $1,000+ across one or more transactions (up to 20% back)
  • This is valid when you pay for your stay between February 16 and May 15, 2024
  • This is only valid for stays at select properties in the United States, Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, Belize, Peru, Honduras, and French Polynesia, and you can find the list of participating properties here
  • The terms state that you need to book directly with Hilton to take advantage of this
  • Registration is required

Spend $500+ at Hiltons in Nevada, save $100

There’s a targeted Amex Offers deal for stays at Hilton family properties in Nevada:

  • Save $100 when you spend $500+ across one or more transactions (up to 20% back)
  • This is valid when you pay for your stay between October 25, 2023, and March 15, 2024
  • This is only valid for stays at participating properties in Nevada
  • The terms state that you need to book directly with Hilton to take advantage of this
  • Registration is required
Save at select Hilton properties in Nevada

Look for these offers on Hilton Amex cards

While you could see these offers on most of American Express’ rewards cards, ideally you’ll see this offer on a co-branded Hilton Honors credit card, so that you can earn bonus points for your hotel stay, while also qualifying for the statement credit offer. This includes the following cards:

Bottom line

There are a couple of great Amex Offers deals that can save you money on your next stay at a Hilton-family property. A while back we saw the introduction of an offer for Hilton properties in Nevada, and now we’ve seen the introduction of an offer for stays at select Hilton properties in several countries.

If you have any Hilton stays planned in the near future, I’d highly recommend checking if you’re eligible, and then registering.

Was your account targeted for these Hilton Amex Offers, and do you plan on taking advantage of them?

I used this offer on my platinum card last April. The hotel -- Hilton Moorea -- was explicitly listed as participating. So, clearly, they opted in. However, when I checked out my charge was listed from a Sheraton. So... called Amex. They said, it charged as a Sheraton, sorry -- even though I had a receipt from a participating Hilton. Fast forward to LAST WEEK and the $200 credit popped up on my card. All...

There's some hinky stuff going on with Hiltons in French Polynesia. On that same trip I used my Hilton Amex at the Conrad on Bora Bora. First, they "forgot" my $100 credit from booking through Impressario and then, even though they're listed as a participating resort for the resort credit, the $250 never posted and, again, I got a run around. Maybe that one will show up now too. But buyer beware of Hilton properties in French Polynesia.

Does an Impressario booking count as a direct booking?

In general, which is better: take the points multiplier for buying at the Hilton on your Aspire or Surpass cards, or use a different card that has one of these offers on it?

These offers are worth 20% if you spend exactly the minimum to qualify, so you definitely want to do that. In the past, I've had the hotel split the charge. Put the required amount for the offer on your non-Hilton card, and the rest on the Hilton.
Of course, my response assumes you've already taken advantage of the cash back benefits of the Aspire or Surpass, but you don't want those to go to waste while chasing a different offer.

Will this combine with the semi-annually $200 Hilton Aspire Resort credit?
(With a total of $400 off and Diamond Food & Beverage Credit , this is a good deal!)

    1. Greg Guest

Yes, I've been able to stack these in the past

Received the "spend $1000, get $200 back" offer on my Aspire.

Was targeted for the "spend $1000, get $200 back" and was somewhat optimistic that I would be able to use it. Then saw it was for only a very small number of properties, all of which are resorts, and my interest disappeared. So many of these Hilton offers lately have been limited in their usefulness...

Got the resort offer on my Aspire which is the first time I have ever received a Hilton offer on my Hilton card. Oddly restrictive list of hotels.
