Four Seasons has a loyal following, and it’s a brand that a lot of people swear by. If you’re looking to travel internationally but don’t want to go far, it’s hard to compete with the Four Seasons Ocean Club Resort in the Bahamas.
In this post I wanted to cover the basics of the Four Seasons Bahamas, and also share the best ways to maximize value for stays at the resort (which is to take advantage of promotions and book through a Four Seasons Preferred Partner agent).
In this post:
Four Seasons Ocean Club Bahamas basics
The Four Seasons Bahamas is located on the north shore of Paradise Island. The resort is known as the Ocean Club, and that gets at the history of this property — until the mid 20th century, this was a little-used islet known as Hog Island. This hotel was even featured prominently in the 2006 James Bond film “Casino Royale.”
The 106-room resort has five restaurants and bars, a Balinese-inspired spa, five miles of white-sand beach, three swimming pools, six tennis courts, and more.
To get to the Four Seasons Bahamas you’ll want to fly into Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau (NAS), and from there it’s a short 40 minute drive by car to the resort. Nassau is just a short flight from the US, particularly if you’re coming from South Florida.
Four Seasons Ocean Club Bahamas room types
The Four Seasons Ocean Club Bahamas has a total of 106 accommodations, including rooms, suites, and villas. I figured I’d go through some of those categories to give you a sense of what to expect.
The Ocean Club Bahamas has a total of 89 guest rooms, spread across three categories:
- The Garden-View Room is 450-475 square feet and has garden views (located in the Hartford Wing)
- The Ocean-View Room is 450-475 square feet and has ocean and ocean pool views (located in the Hartford Wing)
- The Luxury Oceanfront Room is 550 square feet and has lawn, beach, and ocean views (located in the Crescent Wing)
The Ocean Club Bahamas has a total of 12 suites, spread across two categories:
- The Ocean-View One-Bedroom Suite is 975 square feet and has ocean and ocean pool views (located in the Hartford Wing)
- The Luxury Oceanfront Suite is 1,100 square feet and has lawn, beach, and ocean views (located in the Crescent Wing)
The Ocean Club Bahamas has a total of five villas (which are part of the Four Seasons Private Retreats collection), spread across three categories:
- The Two-Bedroom Plunge Pool Villa is 860 square feet and has garden views
- The Three-Bedroom Beachfront Villa Residence is 4,445 square feet and has ocean views
- The Four-Bedroom Beachfront Villa Residence is 4,801 square feet and has ocean views
Four Seasons Ocean Club Bahamas deals & promotions
The Four Seasons Ocean Club Bahamas has a variety of promotions that guests can take advantage of when booking, including the following:
- Through April 30, 2024, receive a $200-500 resort credit when you book a stay of three or more nights
- Through December 19, 2024, receive a fourth night free with every three consecutive paid nights
- Through December 19, 2024, receive up to 20% off when you book a stay of three or more nights at least 15 days in advance
Note that none of these promotions are combinable, so you have to choose which of these offers you’d like to take advantage of. Furthermore, the rates you’ll see on Four Seasons’ website already reflect any eligible discounts.
Book with Four Seasons Preferred Partner
If you are going to book the Four Seasons Bahamas, you should absolutely book through a Travel Advisor who is affiliated with Four Seasons Preferred Partner. This is a program available to select Travel Advisors, where they can add value for your stays without it costing you anything extra.
Four Seasons Preferred Partner offers extra perks like daily breakfast, room upgrades, resort credits, and more, all at no additional cost to the guest. Four Seasons Preferred Partner can be combined with any of the above promotions, including the fourth night free offer.
Just to give an example, the Four Seasons Ocean Club charges a minimum of an extra $50 per night for a rate that includes breakfast, though through Preferred Partner you can get that at no extra cost.
If you’re booking Four Seasons and you’re not doing so through a Preferred Partner agent then you’re doing it wrong.
If you’d like to make a booking at the Four Seasons Ocean Club Bahamas to get the best deal, and/or have a question about Preferred Partner, you can reach out to Ford at [email protected]. Travel Advisors may even be able to help if you already have existing bookings.
Bottom line
The Four Seasons Ocean Club Bahamas is a hidden gem with quite a history. This isn’t your typical cookie cutter resort, but rather features quite a bit of old-world charm, as its history dates back so many decades.
International destinations from the US don’t get much closer than the Bahamas, which is another draw to this place. You can fly nonstop to Nassau from several cities in the US, and then it’s just a short drive to the resort — no flight connection or boat transfer required.
Hopefully the above gives a good overview of the property. If you are going to book the Four Seasons Ocean Club Bahamas, make sure you’re at least maximizing value by booking through a Preferred Partner agent, who can help you take advantage of any promotions, and add even further perks.
